The PWM2 is a high performance wall mount speaker which combines flexibility of installation, simple elegant design, and the renowned PSB sound.

The PWM2 can be oriented either vertically or horizontally and be used as a front left, right, centre or surround channel speaker. Its slim profile allows it to hug the wall and maintain a minimal visual presence. Its clean and simple lines compliment virtually any design aesthetic.

Beyond the visual appeal and ease of application is a sonic performance which lives up to the PSB heritage. Incorporating advanced driver and cabinet design, the PWM2 offers open and constant dispersion, tonal balance and bass extension of a truly refined loudspeaker many times its size.

The PSB design team thoroughly tests all of its designs at Canada's National Research Council to ensure outstanding, real-world performance. Driver Technology

Performance Series Speaker: The PSB Imagine PWM on-wall speaker which can be combined with others from the range for the left, right, centre or surround channels. This on-wall speaker produces a large soundstage with true-to-nature sound. Engineered with highly acclaimed audio excellence and research, the Imagine PWM soundbar speaker will deliver wide frequency and dynamic range, natural tonal balance and precise spatial imaging needed to make both music and movies lifelike and enjoyable.

Multiple Drivers: The PSB Imagine PWM2 houses one 1" ferrofluid-cooled titanium dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet, two 3" carbon fibre midrange drivers, and two 4" carbon fibre woofers with a cast baskets and rubber surround. The result is startlingly big and commanding sound with fine detail and emotion.

  • 1" Titanium Dome Tweeter: The 1" titanium dome, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter use a neodymium magnet structure to help extend the frequency response at both ends for effortless, airy top octaves and smooth, uncoloured response. The tweeter features a specially engineered "phase plug" or shield that extends the high frequency response by dampening the tweeter's resonance and preventing phase cancellation in the top musical octave. The clear delicate sounds produced by this remarkable tweeter accurately reproduce all the musical detail contained in your favourite movies and music.
  • Two 3" Carbon Fibre Woofers: The 3" midrange cones are made from carbon fibre to optimise the combination of stiffness, internal damping, and low mass. The magnetically neutral polycarbonate basket contributes additional stiffness, and the bullet-shaped phase-plug enhances linearity at higher frequencies.
  • Two 4" Carbon Fibre Woofers: The 4" woofer cones are made from carbon fibre to optimise the combination of stiffness, internal damping, and low mass. The woofer's magnetically neutral polycarbonate basket contributes additional stiffness, and the bullet-shaped phase-plug enhances linearity at higher frequencies.

Crossover Network: One of the most critical aspects of speaker is the crossover network, where the final voicing and integration of all the elements of the design are determined. Even proximity to the wall behind the speaker has an effect that must be considered when fine tuning the crossover. PSB engineers designed the crossover frequency very low relative to the woofer size in order to provide the same sound no matter where the speaker is placed. 

Enclosure Design

Cabinet Design: To gain maximum internal volume (necessary for good sound and deep bass response) a special cabinet was developed that minimises external bulk and maximises strength and internal volume. A non-resonant MDF construction mounts the driver units in carefully optimised positions for an ideal dispersion of sound to the listener. Attention-to-detail is extreme with soft rubber trim rings that not only give sleek look, but also control dispersion of sound and add further damping of spurious vibrations.

Cloth Grille: An attractive cloth covered metal grille is transparent to sound while serving to integrate the speaker with your home décor.

Screen match: The PWM2 is designed to cosmetically match the size of most 70" screens when mounted vertically 

5-Way Binding Posts: All PSB Performance series loudspeakers are fitted with five-way gold-plated binding posts that can accept bare wire, lugs, banana plugs, open and closed spades. The PWM range is bi-wireable/bi-ampable.

Colour-Coded: The spring post speaker terminals are colour-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.

Mounting Options

Applications: The Imagine PWM is a single soundbar speaker that can be used as the left, centre, right or surround channels. The Imagine PWM can be used either individually or combined with other PSB In-room or In-wall/In-ceiling speakers (all sold separately) to create a custom home theatre solution.

Wall-Mount: The Imagine PWM includes is a sturdy wall-mount bracket. At only 85mm deep this speaker hugs the wall, integrating perfectly with popular flat-panel TVs. The PWM can be oriented horizontally above or below the centre of your TV screen. The mounting bracket provides various keyhole slots to mount the speaker to your wall (mounting screws not supplied).

Canada is almost as far away from New Zealand as you can get, but it seems we are close on more than just stunning scenery and a large neighbour.

The Canadian sound differs from USA and UK markets, with their scientific approach being woven into the DNA of their products for the last 4 decades.

Perhaps inspired by nature, science or both, PSB are among the most awarded and reviewed Canadian loudspeaker companies.



In 1974, Paul met Dr. Floyd Toole, a world renowned psychoacoustician at the NRC, who conducted numerous studies to understand how sounds were interpreted by the human sense of hearing at both the psychological and physiological levels. To Paul, who had devoted much of his childhood to become an accomplished violinist, it was a “Eureka” moment. He had long puzzled over how to consistently reproduce on a set of speakers the unique timbres of different violins exactly as they would sound to him when he played them.

What Paul immediately recognised upon listening to Dr. Toole describe his research was that his findings gave him the formula he needed to design speakers that to the human sense of hearing, would be perceived as organic sounding.

In other words, he could create speakers that wouldn’t fatigue a listener over long periods of listening because the listener would perceive those sounds in the same way they would the nature’s roaring thunder of Niagara Falls to all the subtleties of the soundscapes at the Algonquin Provincial Park.

In Dr. Toole, Paul found a lifelong friend and peer who would influence him and whom he influenced, all in the pursuit of a way to reproduce sounds that listeners would perceive as equivalent to that which was real, alive, and natural.
