Efficient Distortion-free Amplification
The T 778 features the latest developments in NAD’s Hybrid Digital technology to create 9 high current/high power channels of amplification with improved efficiency. Designed with NAD’s full disclosure approach to power ratings, the NAD AVR conservatively delivers 85W FDP and 9 x 140W FTC, all channels driven at rated distortion. For flexibility, the amp channels are configurable to be used for surround or second zone audio. The silent black background and explosive dynamics afforded by this amplifier technology adds lifelike realism, drama and excitement to all your music and movies.
Fully Featured Surround
The T 778 is second-to-none in terms of flexibility and up-to-the-minute digital technology. Only NAD offers Modular Design Construction (MDC), the company’s proven method for preventing premature obsolescence. 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, DTS Master Audio combine with Dirac Live room correction to deliver hyper-realism that captures every dimension of a performance. Add bit-perfect 4K UHD video pass-through and the T 778 delivers the most accurate sound and image experience you’ve ever had. Musical performance is outstanding with High Res Multi-room streaming via BluOS.
BluOS Streaming High Res Audio Included
The T 778 features the powerful BluOS music management platform developed by NAD's sister brand Bluesound. With BluOS, you can stream lossless music to your home theatre system from local libraries, tune in to Internet radio stations, and access popular music streaming services. The free BluOS Controller app is available for download from the respective app stores for Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), Android devices, Kindle Fire and Windows or macOS computers.
Once connected, this device will appear as a BluOS player - where it can ‘receive’ a stream of music. It can also be grouped with other players in your system - for example, streaming an internet music service such as Tidal to two or more zones in your home at the same time.
Please note however, that the other inputs/sources on this device cannot be ‘sent’ to BluOS for transmission to other players - for example, sound from a TV or CD player connected to this device cannot be sent to other Bluesound players.
Please also note that NAD models with additional Zone outputs (for example, Zone 2) cannot play digital sources such as BluOS through these additional Zone outputs. BluOS will only be compatible with the main zone output (Zone 1).

Sound from every corner of your room
The T 778 supports cutting-edge "object-based" surround sound formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which place sound effects in space around you with pinpoint accuracy.
You can have up to nine speakers firing simultaneously and hear the movie's score and special effects above, behind, in front of, and beside you — just like you would in an actual theatre.
Flexible music streaming
NAD has included a kit that adds support for BluOS, a premium-quality wireless streaming platform that gives you access to a wide range of music.
The kit includes dongles for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can access streaming music from the internet and content from your phone, wirelessly. There are also a pair of USB inputs for connecting thumb drives loaded with tunes, including high-res audio files up to 24-bit/192kHz.
The free BluOS mobile app gives you easy access to services like Spotify®, Amazon Music (including HD), TIDAL, and more. And it works with additional wireless speakers from Bluesound for enjoying music in multiple rooms simultaneously.
Designed with the future in mind
Clean, powerful amplification never goes out of style, and this NAD has that in spades. But with rapidly changing audio and video technology, it can be hard to commit to new gear when the next generation of tech may be on the horizon.
That's why NAD developed a way to upgrade parts of the T 778 without having to replace the whole thing — a unique technology called "Modular Design Construction."
The T 778's digital inputs and outputs are built into removable circuit boards. If something more advanced comes along down the road, you'll have the option to upgrade your connections without buying a whole new receiver.
Legendary room correction
This receiver includes Dirac Live, one of the industry's best room-correction platforms. Download the Dirac software to your Windows or Mac computer, and connect the supplied microphone. That's when the magic starts.
Dirac takes precise acoustic measurements of your room, and creates a customised correction curve that fine-tunes the output of your speakers and subwoofers based on the unique sonic characteristics of your space.
In other words, you get smooth, clear sound that's tailored to your room. The before and after can be startling, which shows just how valuable room-correction technology can be.
