IR Systems

50s remote zenith (crop)

Remote controls were first pointed at screens in the late 1950's. Since then IR (Infrared) wireless remotes and control systems have evolved to be the default control method for the Audio/Video industry.

Even today, with other methods of control (RS232 serial control and App control) Infrared, which works reliably over longer distances and doesn't rely on a Wi-Fi network, still remains the backbone of most systems. With applications as simple as controlling hidden components in a cabinet, to house-wide ‘multi-room’ remote control - or complementing other control systems there's solution to do the job.

With any IR system, they need to be optimized to work with 'Set top' decoders used in New Zealand such as MySky, MySky HDI and many others.  They must also be engineered to work with the challenges of LCD, LED, OLED and Plasma TV's and reject UV and IR light-waves that could cause interference.
